Rissian Area

Figure : Russian Area
I read from the Japanese magazine "CQ ham radio 02.2006" about the systematic call signs of Russia. When we get the call sign of Russian radio station, we can know about the QTH area of that call sign. (It is Just like Japanese call sign... my call sign is JN4VWH.... so the QTH is on the area No.4...it means west Japan!)

If you have made a QSO with a Russian station "RA1Z * ", the QTH is almost around " Murmanskaya oblast " north-west Russia. (this Russian station is very far from Japan. some Russian stations are very near stations from Japan, so possible to say " Local stations".

It is so huge, Russian area. This call sign system is very convenient! (^-^) hi.

This is Japanese Call sign system on this blog.

DIFFICILE

We have in this summer a difficult condition of HF in Japan. It is really difficult to even receive signals of Japanese stations on 7MHz, 18MHz, 21MHz and 50MHz bands, too because of much noise on HF band.
( one of the noise, I think, the noise of air conditioners in a city. because we have the maximum temperature of Japan in this year, it was 40.9 degrees C in August.16.2007, about 105 degrees Fahrenheit. And we have every day normally over 90 degrees F in this summer in Japan. I feel the day "90 degrees F" confortable! (^-^;), it was today.)

I have received well the very strong signals from Italian stations in this spring. After that, I have not ever heard the DX signals like that!

For example, I could often receive strong signals of Sporadic E on 21MHz and 50MHz in last year, when I started to Radio amateur and I could know the signals Sporadic E at the first time in the first year of Radio.

I belive however the radio condition will become better as years go by.... I think....I hope so!

The longest

Today I have made a QSO on 430MHz SSB mode. It has become the longest distance from My home QTH on 430 SSb.

I received a signal today on 430 SSB. This "CQ" station is the station about which I wrote on this blog about 10 days ago. His mobile station is very active and very popular for some Hams 430MHz SSB mode specialists.

So I choose my antenna system of 10 elements Yagi. It was double! because the signal coming from the far West about 260KM was difficult to make a QSO, I thought. But finally it was not very enough to do it even with the double 10 elements Yagi. Anyway we finished to exchange our call signs and RS reports. He sent me the report 51, but I had to send 41 to him. I could not read him well and sometimes I could not get his words. I am not sure that we have each other the correct report.

This is my Yagi of 430MHz installed on my veranda! Hi.
(It is a temporally antenna. I usually use for 430MHz band a small 3 elements Yagi.)

My Field Day of JAPAN

August 4, 5 , it was Field Day Contest of JARL, Japan amateur radio league. I didn't make so many QSOs in this time, because I was so busy to work Radio. But I have made a personal memorial QSO with a special mobile station on 430MHz SSB and FM!

With the station, I could not make a QSO on 430 SSB in March this year. Because of the condition of that day and specially, that distance between our stations. He was in Area 6, and I was in Area 4, it was about 270 km, and it was my first long distance QSO. I had only a small mobile mono-stick antenna and only 10 W power. I did receive his signal and his call sign, but it was not easy for him to get my signal. At this time he had Two (double) Yagi of 20 elements and 50W power.

After that, I did receive sometimes his signal in my home QTH, because he is very actif mobile station. But I could not make QSO with him. We know each other at Blog and E-mail in Internet. We are waiting the chance to make our QSO on 430MHz SSB.

At first day of Field Day (JARL), I discovered his signal 430MHz SSB at my home QTH. I have immediately changed my antenna to Single Yagi of 10 elements at my home QTH, and then we have succeeded making the first QSO. I was realy happy, of course.

At second day, I heard his signal in that day on 430MHz FM mode. I go out immediately my home with my car, because it seemed to be difficult making QSO on FM and I wanted to send to him a good, strong and clear signal from my mobile station on the top of hill not so high but where we can see all the city of Okayama. Yes! He could receive my signal of FM 10W better and we have finally made QSO on 430MHz SSB mode and FM mode.

It was enough for me the QSO with that station for this year's Field Day! (^-^) , What a wonderful day!
